Our final goal is to elucidate molecular mechanism of diverse diseases progression such as cancer and atherosclerosis and help development of novel drug for trartment.

Recently our group has isolated mesenchymal stem cells from human bone marrow and adipose tissue. With optimized cell-based screening system, we identified several candidate compounds which have an ability to regulate differentiation from adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells into several lineages, such as adipocyte, osteoblast. Following the discovery of new factors that regulate differentiation, we intend to examine the signaling mechanisms related to differentiation and to apply these factors for stem cell therapy.
